Shaws Cove

Shaw's Cove is a popular dive spot located in Laguna Beach, California. It is one of the most popular and easily accessible dive spots in Southern California. Shaw's Cove is a favorite among scuba divers, and snorkelers alike. The spot is easily accessible by car with a short walk down the stairs to the beach.

The dive spot is situated in a small cove just a short walk from the main beach. The entrance to the cove is marked by a large rock formation, and the cove itself is surrounded by towering cliffs and vibrant kelp forests.

One of the most popular attractions at Shaw's Cove is the abundance of marine life that can be found in the waters around the cove. The cove is home to a wide variety of fish, including colorful tropical fish, eels, and even the occasional octopus or sea turtle. This dive spot is prone to poor visibility, especially during period of surge. Avoid diving Shaw's Cove during periods of surf over 3'.

In addition to the marine life, Shaw's Cove is also home to a series of underwater caves and tunnels that provide a thrilling challenge for more experienced divers. These caves and tunnels are formed by the natural erosion of the cliffs surrounding the cove, and are home to a wide variety of marine life.

One of the unique features of Shaw's Cove is its shallow waters, which make it a great spot for beginners to learn the basics of scuba diving. The waters around the cove are typically between 10 and 30 feet deep, which means that divers can easily explore the dive area without having to worry about deep diving.

Because of the wide exposure this spot has to the Pacific, Shaws Cove can be prone to surges which make conditions tricky and visibility low on the wrong day.

Getting to Shaw's Cove:
